Fragile and Delicate: The Risks of Moving Lighting and Rugs

At Diego Delivery, we understand that when it comes to furniture and decor, every piece is unique and requires special handling. While we specialize in handling furniture, art, and antiques, there are some items that we do not inspect or handle, such as lighting and rugs.

When it comes to lighting, it is extremely fragile and can easily be damaged during transport. To ensure the safety and protection of your lighting fixtures, we recommend that they be handled and inspected by a professional lighting specialist. This will ensure that your lights are properly packed and protected during transport, and that any damage or defects are identified and resolved before they reach you.

Rugs are another item that we do not inspect or handle. Rugs are extremely heavy and delicate, and often require special handling and equipment to transport safely. Our team is not trained or equipped to roll back the rugs from their original packaging as most rug manufacturers pack them in order to ensure the preservation of the rug.

We understand that for some interior designers, being able to inspect and handle their rugs is important. That’s why we recommend that designers request photos of the rug from the manufacturer, or reserve an appointment to go see the rug in person so they can take their own pictures, touch the materials and ensure that the rug is in good condition.
